The fully accredited Brandon Regional Health Centre is accepting applications for Emergency Department Physicians to start as soon as possible. A 1.0 EFT position consists of 1400 hours of service per year. Brandon Regional Health Centre has 300+ beds and receives about 27,000+ emergency visits per year with greater than 51% being CTAS 1-3. BRHC works in conjunction with the provincial trauma service providing much of the trauma care to western Manitoba. There are also teaching opportunities if this is of interest to the applicant, as Brandon hosts a University of Manitoba satellite campus for various clinical clerk positions and resident training positions through the CaRMS match. The successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity for an appointment to the University of Manitoba.

Required qualifications:
- FRCPC or CCFP (EM) - EM must be obtained within 4 years of start date.
- Current licensure or eligible for full licence with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
- ATLS ACLS, PALS, Airway course, Procedural Sedation
- Point of Care Ultrasound (within 2 years of start date)

Renumeration/Hours:   - In accordance with the provincial contract, the current annual salary is $396,240 (including an annual stabilization payment)


Prairie Mountain Health covers a geographically large area, around 67,000, and runs east-west from Saskatchewan/Manitoba border communities like Benito, Elkhorn and Russell to Waterhen Lake, Lake Manitoba and Treherne. From north-south, the region runs from the 53rd parallel north of Mafeking and close to Dawson Bay, right down to the United States border near communities like Melita, Deloraine, Boissevain, Killarney and Cartwright. The population of our region is just over 170,000 which is approximately 12.9% of the provincial population.

Brandon is a thriving city with a population of over 51,000, located 200 km west of Winnipeg on the TransCanada Highway. It is large enough to supply all the retail, medical, educational and cultural needs on a daily basis and small enough to avoid high costs of living and travel problems. Brandon University has a significant reputation in music, general arts and science programs. Assiniboine Community College provides a wide range of education options. Riding Mountain National Park is one hour north of the city, and the Peace Gardens are situated on the Manitoba/North Dakota border just over an hour to the south. There are numerous other recreational areas in Western Manitoba. Dubbed “The Host City”, Brandon’s enthusiastic volunteer base land many provincial, national and international events. The “Wheat City” is a vibrant community in which to live, work and play.
