What is Get Better Together (GBT)?
GBT is based on a program model developed by the Patient Education Research Centre at Stanford University. Trained peer leaders guide participants through several activities each week. Peer leaders are people who themselves have health issues and understand the challenges of managing symptoms, medications and health care needs. By the end of the program participants will have tools to help them better manage their ongoing health condition(s).

GBT is suitable for adults living with a wide range of ongoing health conditions and as an added support for:

Can I bring a support person?
You are welcome to bring a friend, family member or other support person with you.
Is there a cost?
There is no cost.
How long is the program?
Programs are planned for 2 ½ hours per session. There is a session once a week for a total of six weeks.
Do I have to come each week?
To get the most of the program, participants should attend most sessions. Participants who attend a minimum of four out of six sessions will receive a certificate of completion
What can I expect at a session?
The sessions will help you build confidence in managing your condition through group support and discussion of the following topics (discussion topics vary from week to week):
